House 144
The residence is organized through a series of material datums that articulate continuity and order across the project. Horizontal and vertical planes in American White Oak, Teakwood, and American Black Walnut establish a layered hierarchy—light, medium, and dark tonalities that guide spatial perception and anchor the interiors. These datums extend through surfaces, thresholds, and built-in elements, creating a unifying framework. Clay plaster walls provide a muted, tactile field against which the wood datums register, while brushed stainless steel details punctuate and refine the composition. The architectural language is defined less by isolated gestures than by the persistence of these datums, binding the project into a coherent whole.
